To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for a Global Product Development Specialist for our Tomato Processing and Tomato Bush crops, located at our location in Italy (Sant'Agata Bolognese).
YOUR JOB
The main purpose of this job is to manage the product development processes within the Tomato processing and Tomato bush crops through the team of Regional Product Development Specialists. You will support from technical perspective the M&S Crop Lead and the Crop Marketing Specialist (CMS) in the global management and optimization of the crop assortment. You will monitor the quality of all product development processes and implement improvements for the trial plan, trial evaluations, variety elevations, etc.
In this challenging position you will focus on the tasks and responsibilities listed below:
Support M&S Crop Lead and CMS in the assortment review process and keeping assortment overview tool updated
Approve and coordinate the global trial plan with the Regional Product Development Specialist (RPDS) in alignment with the desired scenario defined per market segment
Align the requirements regarding the format and quality of the trial data related to the varieties and seed enhancements
In addition, you coordinate the Intellectual Property Protection process
Approve requests for seed production and coordinate the distribution of them
Initiate, coordinate and administrate the process of variety elevations and keeping the Crop Sales Teams informed of its life-cycle status from a global perspective.
In coordination with CMS and input from Regional Product Development Specialist decide on the elevation of varieties from TR1 to TR2 to Commercial
Assure the quality of PD processes within the crop by coordinating Regional PD Specialists and
Collaborate with Global PD Specialists from other crops for improvement and maximum alignment of processes and tools
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a candidate actively striving to understand technically the possibilities of crop genetics and become the global technical expert for the crop, the green thumb expert. It is your aim to optimize opportunities globally for growth and profitability for the crop, being a technical counterpart for the R&D Crop Lead.
If you have the competences to handle a large amount of data and be decisive and very organized, in combination with the below mentioned competences, then perhaps we are looking for you!
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in Agriculture or equivalent by experience
Good understanding of marketing concepts, particularly assortment and pricing
Minimum of 5 year's experience in development of agricultural varieties and evaluation of trials in an international context
English language: fluent
Italian language
Availability to travel frequently at international level (At least 50% and more)
